Weekly Wisdom/Thoughts on Truth

"Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that hope is His mercy"
Psalms 33:18

"What is Christmas?  It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future.  It is a revelent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal and that every path may lead to peace."
Agnes W Ferrell

The Christmas season has arrived with all the sweet memories and splendor that go with it.  Trees are being decorated; family recipes resurrected, bells and tinsel are found everywhere.  The blessing of Christmas is a Christmas experience that continues to thrive within our hearts and minds throughout the ages.  There's excitement in the air, the ritual of Advent helps us to remember the reason for the sacred time.

Advent is the four Sundays before Christmas.  It is a journey of the soul.  Advent is a time of hope, renewal and change.  Each Sunday we light a candle to remind us of the divine meaning of Christmas.

The first Sunday is hope. What is hope?  Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had.  Hope brings a season of expectancy and anticipation.  It is the time of trust and belief.  Hope is the expectation of the future good, the possibility of a greater tomorrow.  Hope is a precursor of faith.  It is the acceptance that there is an invisible law at work in our lives, now.  The season has begun.
